Responding to the Naysayers
In responding to my naysayers, I will choose articles that promote lifestyle changes over fad diets. Some sites that I will utilize in my research are:

I will include why lifestyle changes are better and healthier as well as why fad diets are not. I will also provide stories of when fad diets have "backfired' for people and they have switched to making a lifestyle change.

Once again Amanda I feel that life style changes are better and healthier as well rather than fad diets. Like everything else in our culture, 'fads' seem to control a lot of our emotions and overrule our minds of logical thinking. I'm sure will you find a lot of 'naysayers' regarding this topic
ReplyDeleteAmanda I agree that lifestyle changes are a healthier option for losing weight and maintaining it. A lot of people don't realize when they are on a fad diet and lose the weight that as soon as they stop this diet they will gain the weight right back and most of the time they gain more than they lost. I like that you are going to include stories of people who have failed at fad diets!
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I think you're right about lifestyle changes being better than fad diets. When I had to study them last year, I found that fad diets will help you lose weight at the beginning, but as soon as you let up, you will gain all the weight back. If you change your lifestyle to make yourself more active, then you will be healthier, more fit, and you will lose weight.

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your blog posts! I also love your topic for this assignment. You are completely right that lifestyle changes are more effective and healthier than fad diets. While fad diets may work in the beginning, they're only a fad. They will not last forever and will not have healthy results.
Great way to address your naysayers. I really love your topic for this assignment and completely agree with it! I think your paper will be a real eye-opener for some people and I wish you the best of luck.
